John Deere X380, X390 Lawn Tractors Recalled Due to Crash Hazard

The recall: It involves the John Deere X380 and X390 lawn tractors. For more information on finding the model and serial numbers, read our description above or the CPSC recall notice.

The risk: The wheel hubs were not manufactured to specifications and can fail, causing the tractor to lose braking and propulsion, posing crash and injury hazards.

Incidents/injuries: John Deere has received three reports of a lawn tractor not braking properly. One minor injury resulting in bruises and abrasions has been reported.

How many: About 160 models sold in the US and 30 models sold in Canada.

Where and when sold: John Deere dealers nationwide and at Deere.com from April 2022 through May 2022 for $5,000 to $6,300.

The remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lawn tractors and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair. John Deere is contacting all known purchasers directly.
