Lawn Mowing Simulator is a real game with a free demo starting next week
Announced today during the ID @ Xbox Showcase, the Lawn Mower Simulator has everything you would expect and more.
Developed by Skyhook Games (the team behind Train Simulator), the simulator takes you through the British countryside and lets you drive the authentic and expensive lawnmowers that IRL offers. As someone who has lived in the UK, I can attest that the frequent rainfall results in fairly intense lawn growth, so this is the perfect setting for the lawn mower simulator. According to the Xbox Wire post announcing the game, the mowers you’ll be using are from “reputable manufacturers” like Toro, SCAG, and STIGA and I’ll take your word for it as I’ve never had a lawn in mine I mowed life (thanks, severe grass allergy).
In the Lawn Mowing Simulator, however, you don’t just mow lawns. They enter into a variety of contracts to improve your mowing skills with multiple attachments, including strip rollers, mulching kits, grass collectors, and more. We need these lawns to look like the outfield at Yankee Stadium. You will also need to build your own lawn maintenance business by purchasing and upgrading a headquarters, hiring employees, buying ad space, and more. If you can name your company, I’ll call Lawn Guy Land Lawn Services.
If mowing beautiful lawns with expensive wheeled machines sounds like your thing, sign up now for a limited early access session through the Xbox Insider Program. The Lawn Mower Simulator preview will take place April 2-16. The Lawn Mower Simulator will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S this summer 2021. Expect a calm, nice and relaxing mowing experience.
Speaking of cheerfully beautiful indie games, check out our Moonglow Bay preview.
